Freedom is what you do with what’s been done to you.
Existential psychotherapy explores how you personally confront the givens of our human existence – freedom/responsibility, isolation, meaning/meaninglessness, and death. It emphasizes your ultimate freedom to choose what you make of your circumstances, and explores values and options for creating a more meaningful existence.
Responsibility means authorship. To be aware of responsibility is to be aware of creating one’s own self, destiny, life predicament, feelings, and, if such be the case, one’s own suffering.
